Royal Dragon Juno Kamihoto and Juki Wu are arriving at the Union Republic "Goodwill Tournament" with Rex Peterson, Black Dragon Jamesu, Tia Hasamisha, and Hasamatshu. Kogasuma Emperor Sanamoto has given Juno the responsibility as the leader of the Kogasuma delegation. Juno was deeply honored by this, this being his first job as an official representative of the royal Kogasuma. A week earlier Juno and Juki announced their engagement to the emperor, a union Juki's brother Zuki helped form. Juki's long love Yellow Demon was reported as being killed in a furnace on Yoder's Island during the September Demon Ninja Island battle. Very grief stricken, Juki mourned the death with great sorrow. Juki has known Juno for several years but they were never close friends until the Kogasuma court arranged the impending marriage. Juno, has since, helped Juki cope with the death of Yellow Demon and the deteriorating health of her father Louis Wu. Juno and Juki have become very close to each other since the arrangement.

Gina Nackiomi has also arrived at the Union Republic tournament to see the competitions. A year ago she met Royal Dragon at this very event. Before the events are to begin, Gina walks through the village markets. It is a cool, crisp, autumn day, and Gina is in a good mood. As she returns from the village, to the hotel were the CM delegation is staying, she spots Rex Peterson in the crowd across the street. Gina knows Rex is Juno's mentor and wonders if Juno is here. She returns to her room and asks Yamashidi if he knew if Royal Dragon was here. Yamashidi says he had no idea. Gina decides to keep an eye on the Kogasuma hotel for any signs of Juno.

Juno and Juki are invited to a grand banquet hosted by Union Republic President Tokimowa. To Juno and Juki's dismay, Zuki Wu and a group of his aides arrive at the banquet and walk up toward the couple. Zuki says, "I'm glad you were invited to this banquet Juno. It was very good of you to bring Juki. She really needs to attend these events. Some class might rub off on her. Maybe all of Juki's Demon Ninja business can be forgotten." Juno says as Juki winces with anger, "Juki is a fine lady. Just move along and leave us be. I'm surprised you had an invitation. How did you pull that off?" Zuki laughs and says, "You see Juno, I know how to get into places like this. I'm sorta like a ninja, but the difference is I'm respectable. I don't need to hide my face." Juno says while walking away, "Maybe you should wear a mask, hiding your face would be an improvement." As Juno and Juki walk away, Juki says, "I can't stand him at times. He treats me like a piece of meat for his political and business purposes. I'm just lucky he helped arrange our marriage. I still wonder what's behind all of that. Why didn't he set you and my sister Yuki up?" Juno says, "Well I'm glad he at least did that, I'm sure the true nature of his plans will come out. Let's forget him and have a good time." Juno and Juki mingle with the many guest.

The next day, Gina's curiosity grows as she is informed by Robin Kang that Royal Dragon Juno is here. Gina decides to go to the event center and see if she can spot him. As she is about to leave, Yamashidi warns her not to get too involved with Juno. Yamashidi says, "There are many things about that man you don't know. He is now touted as the 'crown jewel' of the Kogasuma court. Sanamoto has keen interest with him and many women are vying for his hand in marriage." Gina says, "I know, I just want to see him. I'll be careful." Gina darts to the event center.

Upon Gina's arrival she soon spots Juno on the other side of the center. She walks toward him with nervousness as she doesn't know what to say. As she approaches, she sees a woman, Juki, walking toward him with a baby cradled in her arms. Juki walks to Juno and kisses him. Gina is astonished and very shocked. She stops dead in her tracks and clinches her fist. She watches as Juno hugs Juki and holds the baby. Gina becomes furious with envy and tears start to run down her face. She walks away, but walks right into Zuki Wu. She pardons herself but Zuki says, "Keep away from me you plebe. You should keep your distance from us royal folk. Just go back to your temple you filthy rat." Gina snarls, "I once knew Juno. We met here last year, you little jerk off. It seems he's been busy spreading his royal seeds over the past year." Gina storms off. Zuki thinks to himself and calls on his aides to come to him. He tells them, "That monk girl has connects with Juno. I can't have his name and that of my family dirtied by any affair that may have happened between those two. We will have to pay her a visit."

Later that night, Gina walks by herself near the river that runs east of the village. She thinks to herself about her meetings with Juno. She is very depressed and sits on the river's bank. Soon four men walk toward her and ask for her name. Gina stands and says, "Who wants to know? Do you have business with me?" Zuki Wu comes out from behind them and says, "I'm sure you don't even know what business even means. I just want to give you a lesson, one you will not forget." As Zuki says that, three of the men jump Gina. They tumble onto the ground and wrestle from a few minutes. Gina yells with fury as the men chain her hands together. They pull her up and chain her hands around a long wooded pole. Gina yells, "Who the hell are you and why have you attacked me?" Zuki says, "I am a royal. My name is Zuki Wu. You may have known Juno, but not anymore. He wants nothing to do with you. He now is engaged to my sister. He ordered me to rough you up and said he never wants to see you again. If he does, he'll kill you." Gina tugs with force at her chained hands as Zuki laughs. Zuki's thugs starts kicking and punching Gina as Zuki stands by. After several minutes Gina has fallen to the ground, her torso throbbing with pain. Zuki spits on Gina and walks away as a rain starts to fall.

Gina wakes as the rain falls heavily upon her. She can barely move from the intense pain from her torso. She thinks to herself, "Damnit, I can't believe I let myself get jumped like that. Why can't I anticipate these kind of attacks? I swear I'll kill that bastard." Gina looks up and sees her hands are chained and with her pain she can't climb the pole. Gina cries as she can't believe Juno would have ordered such a horrible attack. She rest her head in the now muddy ground. A sense of intense fury comes over her as she continues to think about the attack. She lays almost facedown in the mud. Gina looks up and says to herself, "I'm through with you Juno. Your first girl buried me in a trunk and now your second girls brother has beaten me and left me to die in the rain. You will not succeed in killing me, I am a warrior." Gina pulls at her chained hands to no avail. The muscles in her arms are throbbing with adrenaline but the pain from the blows to her torso keep Gina from even standing. Gina thinks, "I have the strength to pull myself up the poll but the pain is too intense. I hope someone sees me or else I'll die here. As strong as my arms may be I can't break these chains. I vow this will not happen to me again." Gina's head falls back down into the mud as she conserves her strength.

Black Dragon Jamesu walks along the river's bank as the rain lets up. Jamesu has had trouble sleeping from a minor shoulder muscle pull while practicing his swordplay. Jamesu has also gotten word that Demon Ninja Erisu may come to the tournament. Jamesu has been looking forward to facing the man who lead the attack on the dam near his village. As Jamesu walks in the fog, he sees a girl lying facedown in the mud. He rushes over and shakes her. Gina awakens and sees Jamesu kneeling by her. Gina says, "Who are you? Are you another Kogasuma killer? Are you an agent of Zuki Wu?" Jamesu says, "I am a Kogasuma patriot but I would never associate myself with Zuki Wu. Did he do this?" Gina winces from the pain and answers, "He ordered his thugs to beat me." Jamesu tries to unchain her hands. He can not undo the chains and tells Gina he will go and get a tool to break her free. Several minutes later Jamesu comes back and breaks off her chains. He gently rolls her over. She asks, "Who are you?" Jamesu answers, "I'm known as Black Dragon Jamesu." Gina  remains lightheaded as she is filled with pain. Jamesu lefts her and makes his way toward the CM delegation hotel.

Yamashidi and Robin Kang hear a knock on their door and Yamashidi opens it. He sees Jamesu holding an unconscious Gina. Yamashidi yells, "What have you done to Gina? Who are you?" Jamesu says, "Found her chained to a pole near the river's bank. Zuki Wu had her beaten for some reason. I thought you could help." Robin runs to see Gina as Jamesu lays her down on a bed. Yamashidi says, "Why would Zuki Wu have attacked Gina?" Jamesu stands and turns to Yamashidi, "I don't know yet. My brother has been arranged to be married to his sister, Juki. Maybe there is something there?" Yamashidi yells for one of his troops, "Get a medic in here. Tell Zando that Gina has been attacked." Jamesu gently brushed Gina's hair from her face as Robin helps bandage her. Yamashidi says, "You might want to get out of here before some of the other come down." Jamesu nods. As Jamesu prepares to leave Yamashidi says, "Thank you for bringing Gina here. She means a lot to me and my clan. I've trained her for the past few years, she's like a sister to me. You are very honorable." Yamashidi and Jamesu bow to one another.

Within an hour Zando Yokomoto, Pee Wee Ninja, Valerie Fox, Yamada, and Yakenzo have come to see Gina. Gina remains unconscious as they visit. Yamada shout to Zando, "We have to attack them (Kogasuma) for attacking Gina. It's a declaration of war my man. You can't just sit here like a punk and let this go unanswered." Zando says, "Well Yamashidi says Black Dragon said Zuki Wu ordered this. I will have a meeting tomorrow with Royal Dragon and this will be on my agenda." Yamada snorts, "Boy, I hope it is." Zando barks, "Be quiet, I'll take care of this." Soon Zando, Yamada, and Yakenzo leave as the rest help Gina.

The next morning at a breakfast banquet, Zuki Wu and many UR dignitaries are meeting. This banquet is on an open terrace overlooking the main river. As Zuki and his aides are talking about a trade deal, Yamada comes lumbering onto the terrace. Zuki ignores Yamada as he makes his way toward him. When Yamada comes up to him, Zuki says, "Ninjas are not allowed here, especially a buffoon like you." Yamada pulls out a knife and shoves it into Zuki's guts. Zuki buckles from the impact. The guest gasp as this happens. Yamada slaps Zuki's hat off and shoves him over the terrace's railing and into the river down below. Two of Zuki's guards attack Yamada. Another jumps into the river after Zuki. Yamada slashes the guards and runs away, slashing a few bystanders in the process.....To be continued.....
