Black Demon Woods, Epilogue

Four days have past since the Battle of the Black Demon Woods had concluded and Melinda and J.C. Fox have come to see the results of the forest burning and the battle. It is a very foggy morning and very chilly. Smoke is still prevalent and some minor fires are still smoldering. The Black Demon Woods is filled with burnt trees and ashes. Melinda and J.C. walk around the forest floor, observing the mass carnage that had taken place. They remain close together, knowing this is still a hostile area. They come up upon a mass of burnt skeletons and they both kneel over to inspect them.

"Wow, this must have been some battle." J.C. explains quietly. "Yes, these poor souls were burned alive here. They had no chance." Melinda explains. They both look around and notice the burnt trees, both Melinda and J.C. are saddened with the lost of the forest and it's life. "Not only did the CM and Demon Alliance loose lives here but this forest lost an enormous amount of lives too, both plant life and animal life." Melinda says softly. "I'm curious sis, why would the Demon Ninjas destroy their own base of operations? Do they have a place to go?" J.C. asks. Melinda stands and says, "They still have the neighboring areas to hide and base their attacks. They did loose heavy amounts of forces though so it will take time for them to make another substantial strike."  J.C. then notices a few Demon Ninja Troopers doing some digging some distance away and says, "I wonder what they are digging for sis?" "Lets see!" Melinda answers. They both walk over toward the four Demon Ninjas who are obviously digging for something. The Demon Ninja stop and look at the two Fox sister as they both come closer. The Demon Ninja are at first hesitant but then they take off, running away down a trail. J.C. asks, "They sure didn't want to talk to us did they?" Melinda says, "No, they are probably just scavengers looking for anything of value that was left. They'll be hungry soon with the winter approaching. The Demon Alliance doesn't have enormous sums of money to feed their troops, especially after this battle. That, I'm sure, is a problem Keyoto and Zanatogi will have to face over the next few months. Gold and Silver mines and banks in this area have been alerted to the situation and more troops are moving in to guard these facilities." J.C. bends over and finds a small bag with some coils in it. "I guess they wanted these coils. Not all that much money though." see explains. Melinda looks at the coils and then looks into the foggy burnt forest and says, "Keyoto lost a lot here but he'll return. Val said his army was very well trained. Those Black Ninja agents really stirred up trouble and I heard there were many who deserted the Demon Alliance forces when the battle began. Keyoto and Zantogi have to work even harder to strengthen their forces bonds. Melinda turns to J.C. and adds, "especially since those Black Ninja agents are still planted within the Demon Alliance." J.C. smiles and says, "Oh boy, more trouble for Keyoto." Melinda and J.C. then head for home

Meanwhile at a mountain cave compound, Demon Keyoto and Zanatogi take a look at their armies and discuss their future objectives. Gen. Hiroto is interrogating captured CM General Ray Foster. Keyoto walks into the interrogation room and asks Hiroto how things are progressing. Gen. Hiroto reports Gen. Foster has limited knowledge of future CM attack plans, "He only seems to know about a few CM troops movements to local banks and mines, nothing more." Keyoto says, "Well, I knew Foster when I was in the CM and he's like alot of the Generals over there, not very informed. The Lord only gives details to them when they are ready for a big attack. He's a good hostage though. Has he given you any trouble?" Hiroto responds, "No, he just wants to sleep alot." Keyoto then responds, " You will not get much more out of him so let him have his sleep." Keyoto then leaves the rooms.

As he walks to see Zanatogi, Bridgette Shane runs up to him and says, "Demon Keyoto, master, could you please help me?" She falls to her knees and pleads, "I need to take revenge on the CM for killing Vlad. I need to become a better fighter, stronger, more deadly. I need to become a real Demon Ninja." Keyoto looks down on her and says with an angry voice, "I knew Demon Vlad for almost ten years, I trained him and he was with me since the days when I created the Demon Ninja Clan. I'm VERY angry about his death, it hurts me too but he consistently refused to listen to my advice and that of Yellow Demon and Gen. Hiroto. He was too rebellious and that is a sign of weakness that I can't ignore. Even if he was a blood brother of mine." Shane begins to cry. Keyoto shouts, "GET UP!" She jumps to attention. Keyoto shouts, "I  was almost torn apart by the CM soldiers, my body is still riddled with small stab wounds from their knives. If you want to become a real Demon you will have to face REAL training. I have vowed to myself that I will become even more stronger, bigger, and more focused on my goals. You have a choice. Follow my example or just cry about a dead Demon Vlad, life goes on." Keyoto storms away. Bridgette Shane falls again to her knees and becomes full of anger and says, "I will not let Vlad's death go un-answered. I'll follow you Demon Keyoto, I have no choice now. I will become a real demon."

Back at the CM Team Base Yamada and his soldiers are having a "victory" bonfire celebration. The bodies of the dead Demon Vlad and a few Demon/Fire Ninjas are being crucified as the CM soldier celebrate. Yamada and Rev. MacMallard lead the celebrations. Jill Matsmoti, Jack Yakama, Valerie Fox, and Tang Fu Lii all watch this celebration from a distance. Jack says, "He sure loves to celebrate. The funeral for Sho Mitsogi will be even a bigger riot." Tang adds, "We have alot to learn from this battle. Keyoto proved he can mount a real attack onto us. With the Lord retiring, that will only complicate things even more. We have to keep a close eye on him." Valerie responds, "Zanatogi also proved to be a real loyal partner too. His connections with the Kogasuma are weakening but he has much more strength with the Demon Ninja. We all need to really train hard for his next attack." They all shake their heads in agreement. Jill adds, "This winter will be bloody........."
